GUIDING PRINCIPALS
Royston Dynamos Junior Football Club recognises several categories of abuse, these include:
· Physical
· Emotional
· Sexual
· Racial
· Neglect
The clubs Child Protection Policy is guided by the Children Act 1989, which
replaces the notion of parental rights with parental responsibility, and demands
that the child’s welfare be paramount in all procedures concerning child
abuse. Royston Dynamos Junior Football Club is aware of the consequences for
children, in terms of impaired development and under achievement, if they are
abused or neglected.
Royston Dynamos Junior Football Club also recognises:
· That parents/guardians trust the club to ensure that their child’s
welfare is paramount.
· That all children have a right to be protected from abuse, regardless
of age, gender, disability, culture, language, racial origin, religious beliefs
or sexual identity.
· The willingness to believe that child protection issues can arise anywhere.
· The importance of early intervention and listening.
· That complaints of suspected or actual child abuse or of children being
put at risk will be taken seriously and responded to swiftly and appropriately.
· The need to appoint a designated Child Protection Officer/s who is/are
trusted and have/has the confidence of both children and adults that if they
have concerns they will be listened to and taken seriously.
· Any individual involved with Royston Dynamos Junior Football Club must
hold the Certificate of Child Protection Registration issued by the Sheffield
and Hallamshire FA. This includes:
· Royston Dynamos Junior Football Club Management Committee
· All coaching staff
· First Aid Officers
· Match officials
Code Of Conduct:
Royston Dynamos
Junior Football Club implements a written code of conduct for managers, players
and parents, which addresses the need of adopting good practice when working
with children.
Reporting Procedures:
Mr Steve Croft of 27 First Avenue Royston, Barnsley, South Yorkshire (Tel: 01226 724675) is the Child Protection Officer for Royston Dynamos Junior Football Club and is a member of the clubs management committee. Mr Croft is responsible for co-ordinating and implementing child protection within Royston Dynamos Junior Football Club, this includes recognising any training and development opportunities regarding child protection for members.
All suspicions or allegations of abuse reported to the Child Protection Officer will be treated seriously and responded to swiftly and appropriately in conjunction with the appropriate Local Authority bodies.

the designated Child Protection Officer being unavailable the following members
of the clubs management committee will deputise:
